Athens Convention & Visitors Bureau (ACVB) has organised complimentary tours for guests of World Travel Awards attending the Europe Gala Ceremony 2018. The ACVB was established in 2008 and operates within the Athens Development and Destination Management Agency (ADDMA) as Athens’ official Destination Management Organisation. Its mission is to establish Athens as a top MICE, city-break and leisure destination in the international market.

Option 1: Grand Tour of Athens
Relish the birthplace of drama, democracy and philosophy with this walking tour that explores the neighbourhoods where Athens began. The tour spans 3,400 years of Athenian history and includes: Greek and Roman ruins; medieval churches; Ottoman mosques; stately neoclassical edifices; vibrant city squares, and colourful markets. Over the course of the walk, your guide aims to give a broad but comprehensive look at the city.

Areas Covered: Syntagma • Panepistimio • Omonoia • Monastiraki
Drop-off location: Acropolis Metro Station
Option 2: An Unexpected Blend
Get a real insight into the vibrant daily life and experience the various ‘levels’ of Athens. Highlights include visiting Plaka district, coffee in the neighbourhood of ‘Anafiotika’, admiring monuments such as “Tower of the Winds”, lunch like a local at a well-known tavern.

Drop-off location: Monastiraki Square (Outside the metro station)
Food allergies or any special dietary needs must be stated in advance. Drinks and bites included are equivalent to a Greek breakfast and lunch.
