Meet the Winner

A graduate of the Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne – frequently ranked the best hotel management school in the world – Mr Michael Henssler holds an MBA from the NEOMA Business School in Reims and first joined Kempinski in 1994.

Mr Henssler has held a diverse array of leadership roles throughout his career at Kempinski – which is itself celebrating its 120^th anniversary this year.

Having previously held the title of general manager at the Grand Hotel Kempinski Geneva, he is also something of a pioneer, opening Kempinski properties in both Kuwait and Dubai.

More recently Mr Henssler was president of Kempinski Hotels China, where he led the market to substantial growth, successfully opening 12 hotels and expanding the portfolio to 22 hotels in key destinations across the country.

Fast forward to 2017 and our deserved winner oversees the Kempinski operations in Asia with a portfolio covering China and the rapidly developing south-east Asia region.

All told, Michael Henssler is an individual who is a true hotelier, proficient across every aspect of the hospitality industry.
