World Travel Awards nomination Reykjavík has been nominated for the World Travel Award as the leading cruise destination in Europe. The awards reward and celebrate the enormous achievements in all sectors of the global travel industry and have been called the "Travel industry´s equivalent to the Oscars". Therefore this is a great honor for the city of Reykjavik as an attractive destination for cruise ships. The awards will be held in Newcastle the 9th of October.
