Muscat Daily: Travel rush: 7.2mn use Oman airports

As many as 7.2mn passengers passed through Muscat, Salalah, Duqm and Sohar airports in the first five months of this year.

The National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) said that there were 6.6mn arriving and departing passengers at Muscat airport via 47,104 flights.

‘This was followed by Salalah Airport with 514,446 passengers via 4,358 flights and Sohar Airport with 108,047 passengers via 970 flights. Overall, 23,371 passengers passed through Duqm Airport via 252 flights in the first five months of this year.’

NCSI said that overall there was 5.7 per cent increase in arrivals and 7.1 per cent rise in departures through these airports during this period.
