5 December 2018 - Saigon Online

The carrier has been recognized by the WTA for three years consecutively.

World Travel Awards Founder and President, Graham Cooke said that Vietnam Airlines has demonstrated phenomenal dedication to improving its customer services and upgrading its fleet. It has been acknowledged by both the travel trade and the public by being voted 'World's Leading Airline - Premium Economy Class' and 'World's Leading Cultural Airline’.

Vietnam Airlines has strongly promoted Vietnamese culture through traditional foods in 2018.
In March, the national flag carrier announced that Vietnamese-Australian celebrity chef Luke Nguyen has become its Global Cuisine Ambassador. According to the agreement from 2018-2020, Luke Nguyen will take responsibility of improving the quality of meals and promoting Vietnamese food on Vietnam Airlines’ flights as well as creating 8 new regional specialties for the business class. The chef will also provide consultations to 50 current business-class menus of the airline in this year.

The carrier also offers longan, a specialty from the northern province of Hung Yen, as a dessert on over 70 domestic and international routes.

WTA was established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the tourism industry.
