World Travel Awards recognised the achievements of Jamaican minister of tourism, the hon. Edmund Bartlett, with the title of World’s Leading Personality for Outstanding Services to Travel during the Grand Final 2016.
Having given over thirty-five years of service to Jamaica, working both in the Senate and in the House of Representatives, he has a record as an outstanding legislator in central government.
He returned to the helm of the ministry of tourism following victory at the polls by the Jamaica Labour Party in the spring of 2016, and has made significant contributions to tourism globally.
Under his leadership, tourism in Jamaica has been positioned with an impetus for economic growth and with an understanding of its transformative power.
