Amadeus signs global sponsorship deal with World Travel Awards
February 2007 - London
World Travel Awards (WTA), the premier global awards event which promotes excellence in the travel industry, has announced that Amadeus, a global leader in technology and distribution solutions for the travel and tourism industry, has signed a major global sponsorship deal which will result in their participation in all WTA 2007 events.
The sponsorship commitment covers 2007 WTA regional ceremonies, in addition to the WTA hosted networking events, The World Travel Golf Tournament, The World Travel Internet Conference and the World Travel CEO Forum.
“We are delighted to extend our relationship with Amadeus, and believe this sponsorship re-iterates the strong faith our sponsors have in the World Travel Awards brand,” explains Manon Han, Vice President, World Travel Awards:
“As the travel technology partner to the industry, Amadeus welcomes our partnership with WTA, and looks forward to sponsoring and hosting the WTA awards ceremonies for the first time,” stated Edward Ross, Director of Corporate and Marketing Communication, Amadeus.
The WTA announced a dramatic new development this year, as they have expanded the world-renowned honours scheme to the globe’s regions. In response to escalating global, as well as local interest, and a growing need to recognise winners in their own territory, regional ceremonies will take place in Abu Dhabi, Miami, Newcastle and Bangkok. The gala event will once again take place in Turks & Caicos.
