World Travel Award 2007 Nominees Announced at ITB Berlin
March 2007 - Berlin
World Travel Awards (WTA), the premier global event which aims to promote excellence in the travel and tourism industry, has announced that the 2007 nominees will be unveiled at ITB Berlin.
This development follows the recent announcement that the WTA will now be hosting regional ceremonies throughout this year -- therefore generating more interest, competition and excitement across the world.
ITB Berlin is a prime meeting place, a marketplace, and a driving force behind the entire industry. The exhibition area and various segments, along with the comprehensive congress programme and supporting events represent the entire product spectrum of the tourist industry. At the same time, they form the basis for the development of new ideas, global approaches and targeted marketing.
The four chosen locations for the WTA regional gala events include Abu Dhabi , Miami, Newcastle Gateshead in the UK and Bali. These will cover the various country and regional level awards for the Middle East and Africa, the Americas, Europe, as well as the Asia-Pacific, respectively.
Following the success of last year's event in Turks & Caicos industry professionals have been keenly watching to see who will be nominated this year to compete.
Manon Han, Vice President, World Travel Awards commented: "As the largest exhibition in the travel industry calendar, ITB Berlin is the perfect platform to announce the highly anticipated World Travel Award 2007 nominees. She added: “To be nominated for a World Travel Award is a true testament of a company’s tremendous achievements in travel and tourism. It is these organisations and individuals who make our industry go round and we wish them the best of luck in the coming months, which will determine who will triumph at our awards".
The worldwide voting campaign for the awards has opened along with the nominations and is accessible by visiting the World Travel Awards voting website at www.worldtravelawards.com/votenow.
The winners and top nominees at the regional awards will be put forward for their respective global categories, which will be announced towards the end of this year. The star-studded gala event will again take place on the Turks & Caicos Islands.
