The newly opened Crowne Plaza Hotel Kaohsiung E-Da World has won two prestigious awards as Taiwan's leading city resort and the country's leading conference hotel, presented by the World Travel Awards organization that helps the travel and hotel industry deliver the ultimate customer experience.

General manager Tsai Cheng-fu of Crowne Plaza Hotel Kaohsiung personally received the awards at the 2011 Asia & Australasia Gala Ceremony held in Bangkok, Thailand, Sept. 28.

Tsai said he and his staff were honored and thrilled by winning the twin awards since the hotel opened only in October last year.

He credited the hard-working staff at the hotel and the countless customers who have chosen to use the facilities and services at the hotel.

Tsai also thanked all customers who chose and enjoyed Crowne Plaza Hotel Kaohsiung's facilities, and especially those who provided feedback.

But the awards, with nominations and voting by travel industry executives, also bring more challenges ahead as the hotel and the staff will face greater challenges to continue improving the services, he said.

Tsai said he and his staff aspire to exert greater efforts and meet customers' needs and make Crowne Plaza Hotel Kaohsiung the home away from home for visitors from around the world.

Crowne Plaza Hotel Kaohsiung is a member of the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) and the only five-star hotel in the Kaohsiung area.

The hotel is located at a convenient location at the center of the Greater Kaohsiung City.

People traveling between Kaohsiung and Taipei may take the high-speed rail to reach the hotel from the Tsoying Station of the HSR system.

The hotel has 656 rooms to meet various needs of customers. Some of the guests can see at close distance the giant Ferris Wheel of the E-Da World and most can enjoy the views of Mount Guanyin (Goddesses of Mercy).

As an upscale recreational resort hotel, the facilities at Crowne Plaza Hotel Kaohsiung also include gymnasium and spa in addition to restaurants that offer various styles of cuisine.

The business service center and conference rooms of different sizes provide ready facilities for executives and professionals to continue keeping tabs on business operations and hold discussions before taking part in recreational activities, including swimming or tennis.

Vacationing families with children can enjoy the outdoor facilities like water park and those at E-Da World.

The unique Dream Lake, built at a cost of NT$200 million, boasts the only facilities in Asia on par with those in Las Vegas.

The venue is most suitable for holding parties, weddings, launching new products or marketing campaigns, staging fashion shows that are augmented by the stunning show of light, water, and fire with outdoor barbecues.
