Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority ADTA picked up four of the most prominent awards including: Leading Destination; Leading Business Destination, Leading Tourism Authority and Leading Destination Marketing Campaign.

"This and the many other awards, and nominations, which went to Abu Dhabi stakeholders are ringing endorsements of our expanding leisure and business tourism proposition," said Ahmed Hussein, Deputy Director General, ADTA.

"These awards are earned by all of our industry partners who have repeatedly demonstrated their total alignment with the Abu Dhabi Government's 2030 aim of evolving a world-class, sustainable and culturally-sensitive destination."

The awards were announced at a glittering gala dinner in Dubai and were received by Ahmed Hussein, Khaled Al Hashemi,ADTA's Administration Director and Nasser Al Reyami ADTA's Tourism Standards Director.

Other Abu Dhabi award winners were: Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, won six awards including Middle East's Leading Airline award, Anantara's Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort was voted the Middle East's Leading Desert Resort. Rotana Hotels took an impressive eight awards for its various properties across the Middle East and was voted the Middle East's Leading Hotel Brand, Safar Travel & Tourism won Abu Dhabi's Leading Travel Agency, Aldar's Yas Island went away with the Middle East's Leading Tourism Development Project award while the Middle East's Leading New Hotel award went to the Yas Hotel. Emirates Palace Hotel won seven awards including UAE's Leading Hotel and Royal Jet was voted the Middle East's Leading Private Jet Charter.

Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi's tourism stakeholders were also among winners at the Business Traveller Middle East Awards 2010. Etihad Airways was voted 'Best Regional Airline Services To The Middle East' and 'Best First Class In The Middle East.' The Beach Rotana Hotel took the 'Best Business Hotel in Abu Dhabi' award.
