Respected industry figure and General Manager of the award-winning Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort & Spa, Peter Brampton, has been appointed Cluster General Manager, Gold Coast.

The position will see Brampton continue to oversee the five-star resort as well as its neighbouring property, Courtyard by Marriott Surfers Paradise Resort.

Brampton says he is excited about his new role and looks forward to taking both resorts from strength to strength in 2010.

“It will be an exciting and rewarding role. Both resorts offer something unique and different to leisure travellers and conference delegates and it will be a great opportunity for our sales and marketing team to offer two different properties and experiences on the Gold Coast," he says.

“We are enjoying a strong end to the year and I look forward to what appears to be a promising 2010 for both properties.”

Since Brampton took over the reins at the Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort & Spa in 2006, the resort has won several reputable awards including Best Hotel in Regional Queensland by the Motel & Accommodation Association awards, Australia’s Leading Resort and Australasia’s Leading Family Resort by the highly acclaimed international World Travel Awards.
