At the recently held 2009 World Travel Awards in London, Casa de Campo in Dominican Republic was recognised as the world’s leading golf resort. Casa de Campo was also the proud recipient of three other awards in the following categories: Caribbean’s leading golf resort, Dominican Republic’s leading golf resort and Dominican Republic’s leading resort.

According to a report in examiner.com, Dr Claudio Silvestri, President and CEO, Premier Resorts & Hotels the management company for the resort said, “It is a great honour that the hard work of all our employees in providing excellent service is recognised. I am also certain that our clients are delighted that their favourite resort has been recognised as the world’s leading golf resort.”

Pete Dye, golf course designer, created the first championship golf course in the Dominican Republic at Casa de Campo, the Teeth of the Dog, back in 1971.
