Etihad, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has been voted the world’s best carrier at the World Travel Awards (WTA).
Etihad is a relatively new kid on the block as airlines go and it has been busy of late buying new aircraft and opening new routes, even as much of the world’s airline business continues to suffer from the global recession.
Chief executive James Hogan, said Etihad would continue its expansion plans and was on track to be profitable by 2011.
