Jamaica last night received the prestigious award, ÄúGolf Destination of the Year for the Caribbean and Latin America, Au vote by more than 300 members of the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO). Elizabeth Fox, Regional Director of the Jamaica Tourist Board, London was on hand to receive the coveted award on Thursday, November 19 during the 2009 International Golf Travel Market (IGTM) in Malaga, Spain.

Each year, the annual conference unites IGTM international golf tour operators and industry meetings with leading hotels, resorts and golf courses in the world to do business and grow the industry. This leading trade show highlights and awards for golf travel suppliers, and service goals.

With 12 magnificent courses which range in islandwide dramatic scenery, Jamaica has become a magnet for players from all over the world.

Courses range from championship to the country club casual atmosphere, each with characteristics and designs to accommodate every golfer, desires and level of AOS.

There are various options, whether it is, AOS Robert Trent Jones-designed Half Moon course, Cinnamon Hill Golf Club by Von Hagge, Baril or Smelek and SuperClubs Golf Club, an 18-hole course designed by Robert Canada Motte, celebrated for challenging the order lies with a few blind holes and relaxed club house.

Jamaica, AOS championship courses have been exhibited to the world play host to several international tournaments, including: Shell’s Wonderful World of Golf, Mazda Champions (LPGA Tour), The Jamaica Classic (LPGA Tour) and the Johnnie Walker World Cup Golf (PGA Tour).

Soon the island will again play host to Jamaica 4th Annual Invitational Pro-Am “Annie’s Revenge ‘, presented by the Jamaica Tourist Board and Nike Golf, 2-6 December, 2009 Pro-Am featuring teams from the United States, Canada, Europe and the Caribbean to compete in two of Jamaica, the best course AOS, Cinnamon Hill and the White Witch.

Annie’s Revenge, is a luxury lifestyle event highlights the high-end facilities that offer visitors to distinguish Jamaica as golf courses, hotels, cuisine and amenities.
