The Sadie Cove Wilderness Lodge in Kachemak Bay recently won a first-place award as the "Leading U.S. Green Resort" from the World Travel Awards, a London-based firm that divvies out annual tourism awards. It is the first lodging in Alaska to ever to receive an award from the organization, according to its owners. The lodge, owned by Keith and Randi Iverson, opened in 1981 and runs on hydroelectric and wind power. For more information about the lodge, go to www.sadiecove.com.
