The Edition: VIA nominated in two World Travel Awards categories

MACL has said that Velana International Airport (VIA) and the Maamahi Executive Lounge have been nominated in two categories for the World Travel Awards.

According to MACL, VIA has been nominated in the "Indian Ocean Leading Airport 2026" category. VIA has been nominated 12 times in the past, with MACL highlighting that VIA being nominated this year is a symbol as one of the most advanced airports in the Indian Ocean and its position in maintaining this statement.

Maamahi Executive Lounge was nominated in the "Indian Ocean Leading Airport Lounge 2026" category. MACL stated the nomination will be seen as further improvement toward the efforts lounge in providing quality and comfortable services to passengers.

The World Travel Awards was introduced in 1993, and is one of the most honorable awards at an international standard in the tourism and travel industry.
