The Philippines once again takes the global spotlight after earning multiple nominations in the World Travel Awards 2026, one of the travel industry’s most prestigious international recognitions.

The country is vying for top honors including Asia’s Leading Beach Destination, Asia’s Leading Dive Destination, and Asia’s Leading Island Destination. The Philippines Department of Tourism (DOT) has also been nominated as Asia’s Leading Tourist Board, reinforcing its continued efforts to position the Philippines as a premier travel destination in the region. 

Several Philippine destinations likewise secured nominations across various categories, including Boracay for Asia’s Leading Luxury Island Destination, Cebu for Asia’s Leading Wedding Destination, Intramuros for Asia’s Leading Tourist Attraction, Clark Freeport Zone for Asia’s Leading Meetings and Conference Destination, City of San Fernando, Pampanga for Asia’s Leading Cultural City Destination, and Aurora for Asia’s Leading Regional Nature Destination. Subic Bay also earned a nomination for Asia’s Responsible Tourism Award. 

Meanwhile, the country’s flag carrier, Philippine Airlines (PAL), also clinched multiple nominations across airline categories, including Asia’s Leading Airline, Asia’s Leading Airline Brand, and Asia’s Leading Cultural Airline. It also earned recognition for service excellence across all cabin classes—Business Class, Premium Economy Class, and Economy Class—as well as for Asia’s Leading Airline – Customer Experience, Asia’s Leading Cabin Crew, and Asia’s Leading Airline Rewards Programme for Mabuhay Miles. 

The nominations also extend to the hospitality sector, with a diverse roster of nominated properties across the country:

The Philippines has consistently performed strongly in past editions of the awards, earning recognition across multiple tourism segments—from beach and island experiences to diving and cultural attractions since 2013. Building on this momentum, the DOT invites Filipinos and supporters worldwide to cast their votes and help secure another win for the country. Voting for the Philippines in the various categories of the World Travel Awards is now open and will run until July 17, 2026.
