Andina: Peru wins four categories at 2025 World Travel Awards

Peru has once again made history by winning four prestigious categories at the World Travel Awards 2025, held in Cancun, Mexico, on September 27.

Thus, Peru consolidated its position as one of the main players in South American tourism, while also highlighting its exquisite cuisine.

It was awarded as South America's Leading Destination, South America's Leading Culinary Destination 2025, South America's Leading Tourist Attraction (Machu Picchu), and South America's Leading Cultural Destination 2025.

Therefore, our country has been recognized for the tenth time as Leading Cultural Destination, for the twelfth time as South America's Leading Culinary Destination, and for the third consecutive year as South America's Leading Cultural Destination.

With the title of South America's Leading Tourist Attraction 2025, Machu Picchu—our world wonder—maintains its status as the continent's foremost tourist icon.

It has earned this distinction in seven editions: 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019, and 2018.

These recognitions highlight our leadership in tourism and gastronomy in the region, Marca Peru (Peru country brand) emphasized. 

The World Travel Awards (WTA) were established in 1993 to recognize, reward, and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the tourism industry.

Currently, the WTA brand is globally recognized as the ultimate hallmark of quality, and the winners set the benchmark to which all others aspire.
