Iceland Review: Hertz Iceland Recognised as Top Car Rental at World Travel Awards 2025

Hertz Iceland has been named “Iceland’s Leading Car Rental Company 2025” by the World Travel Awards, according to the company.

The award marks the seventh time since 2017 that Hertz Iceland has won the title, following nine consecutive nominations. The company previously held the top spot from 2019 to 2022.

“We are very proud of this recognition,” said Sigurður Berndsen, CEO of Hertz Iceland.

“It reflects the hard work our staff puts in every day to ensure a safe and reliable experience for both tourists and locals. While we celebrate this 2025 achievement, our focus is already on serving our 2026 clients with the same level of care and stability.”

The World Travel Awards, established in 1993, recognises achievements across travel, tourism and hospitality worldwide.

Hertz Iceland said it is investing in technical solutions to improve fleet management and customer service, including a partnership with RentalMatics.

The company operates 11 service stations in Iceland, including in Reykjavík and at Keflavík International Airport.
