26 December 2025 - International Airport Review
Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) has been voted the “World’s Leading Airport for Customer Experience”, as the airport won an array of accolades at the prestigious 32nd World Travel Awards, in recognition of its relentless efforts to enhance passenger facilities and provide excellent services.
HKIA was also voted “Asia’s Leading Airport” for the fifth time since 2020, as well as “China’s Leading Airport” for the fourth year in a row.
Vivian Cheung, Chief Executive Officer of Airport Authority Hong Kong, said, “We are deeply honoured to earn the title of ‘World’s Leading Airport for Customer Experience’, and to be once again recognised as ‘Asia’s Leading Airport’ and ‘China’s Leading Airport’ among many outstanding peers worldwide. These honours reflect our unwavering dedication to delivering exceptional service and a seamless travel experience for customers, while continually driving innovation forward.”
“HKIA is the only airport in the world where passengers are able to complete all departure procedures using only their smartphones and facial recognition technology. To elevate passenger experience, we commissioned the new Coach Hall in 2025 as the first phase of the expanded Terminal 2, which aims to provide convenient connections. We also launched the fully automated car park ‘Park & Fly’ to further strengthen our intermodal connectivity for travellers from around the world. Looking ahead, with the airport capacity enhanced by the Three-runway System and diverse offerings continuously added to our Airport City development SKYTOPIA, HKIA will take passenger experience to the next level and solidify its position as Asia’s premier aviation hub,” Cheung added.
The World Travel Awards celebrate excellence across all key sectors of the travel, tourism and hospitality industries and are recognised globally as the hallmark of industry achievement. Winners are selected by travel industry specialists and passengers from around the world.
