The Philippines has earned nominations for 10 destinations in the 2025 World Travel Awards, underscoring the country's diverse tourism offerings and reinforcing its rising profile on the global stage, the Department of Tourism (DOT) disclosed on Monday, Apr. 21.
DOT Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco said the recognition reflects the Philippines’ broad appeal, from natural wonders and cultural landmarks to thriving business centers and luxury destinations.
Among the new nominees are Aurora in Central Luzon, San Fernando in Pampanga, and the Clark Freeport Zone, which are vying for honors as Asia’s Leading Regional Nature Destination, Asia’s Leading Cultural City Destination, and Asia’s Leading Meetings and Conference Destination, respectively.
In addition to these new entries, the Philippines is also competing in established categories, including Asia’s Leading Beach Destination, Asia’s Leading Dive Destination, Asia’s Leading Island Destination, Asia’s Leading Tourist Attraction (Intramuros), Asia’s Leading Luxury Island Destination (Boracay), Asia’s Leading Wedding Destination (Cebu), and Asia’s Leading Tourist Board (DOT).
Frasco encouraged Filipinos and international travelers to support the country’s nominations, emphasizing that the awards not only highlight the strength of the nation’s tourism industry but also help sustain its continued growth.
Voting is now open and will run until Aug. 31 through the official World Travel Awards website.
The World Travel Awards is globally recognized for honoring excellence across the tourism, travel, and hospitality sectors, with winners to be named in its Grand Final.
