The U.S. Virgin Islands has been nominated for the World Travel Awards, the V.I. Tourism Department announced.

The World Travel Awards was established 31 years ago to acknowledge, reward, and celebrate excellence across all key sectors of the travel, tourism, and hospitality industries, according to the press release.

Public voting is now open, allowing destinations, residents, diaspora, and patrons to use their voices to celebrate their favorite places, the press release stated.

“The World Travel Awards is known for its prestige throughout the industry, and we are excited for the opportunity to be recognized amongst our counterparts elevating in the travel industry and our region,” shares Assistant Commissioner Alani Hennemen. “We encourage everyone to vote and show why the U.S. Virgin Islands is one of the best Caribbean destinations.”
