Jamaica Sweeps Prestigious Categories

In a stunning display of tourism prowess, Jamaica claimed victory in two of the most coveted categories – “World’s Best Family Destination” and “World’s Best Cruise Destination.” These accolades highlight the island’s unmatched appeal to families and cruise enthusiasts, showcasing its diverse attractions and warm hospitality.

The Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) emerged as the “Caribbean’s Leading Tourist Board 2023,” underscoring its exceptional efforts in promoting the island’s diverse attractions, rich culture, and warm hospitality.

The JTB’s innovative initiatives, strategic post-pandemic campaigns, and ambitious growth strategy have played a pivotal role in earning this esteemed award, contributing to a significant increase in tourist arrivals.

Strategic Initiatives Propel Tourism Growth

Hon Edmund Bartlett, Minister of Tourism, commended the JTB, stating, “The JTB’s innovative initiatives, strategic post-pandemic campaigns and ambitious growth strategy have undoubtedly played a pivotal role in achieving the esteemed award while aiding to increasing visitors and record-breaking earnings.” The first half of 2023 witnessed a remarkable 69.2% surge in overall tourist arrivals from the UK, showcasing the effectiveness of Jamaica’s tourism strategy.

Recognition extended to Jamaica’s entry points, notably Montego Bay’s Sangster International Airport, crowned as the “Caribbean’s Leading Airport.” Club Mobay, the airport’s lounge, secured the title of “Leading Airport Lounge” in the region.

Recent renovations have elevated the airport to world-class standards, emphasizing efficiency and passenger satisfaction. The newly launched flight path from London Gatwick to Montego Bay further enhances accessibility for UK travellers.
