Dubai to host World Travel Awards

Dubai: The World Travel Awards to be held in Dubai on May 5 will recognise the best practices of the hospitality industry.

Winners will be picked from more than 100 travel and tourism brands from across the Middle East, the event's organisers said, adding that this year's event has assumed more significance in view of the business downturn hitting the industry.

The awards will be given to airlines, hotel operators, hotel developers, tourism boards, travel media, destination marketing campaigns, and other tourism companies for their achievements.

Established 16 years ago, the awards encourage travel and tourism organisations to set new standards for customer service, value and innovation.

Winners are decided by votes received from agents and travel professionals from around the world.
