Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture and Information Ernest Hilaire announced that Saint Lucia will host the 2023 edition of this year’s World Travel Awards Caribbean and The Americas Gala Ceremony. He said that this year also marks the 30th anniversary of the World Travel Awards. It is a privileged honor to host the awards for which we have won the Caribbean’s Leading Honeymoon Destination on countless occasions and the Caribbean’s Leading Adventure Destination for the first time last year.

“We cannot underestimate the impact of tourism on our economy, so we must continue to build and grow a tourism industry that is inclusive and beneficial to all,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.

The event will be held at the Sandals Grande St. Lucian and will form the climax of World Travel Week 2023. It will be a week-long fest, which will be a gathering of thought leaders from the tourism industry. The event will also feature discussions and debates on key issues related to the tourism industry. On the eve of the World Travel Awards laureate ceremony, he will also host the President’s reception.

Graham Cooke, founder of the World Travel Awards, expressed his delight and said that St Lucia continues to be a great helping hand for the significant recovery of travel and tourism in the Caribbean.

Saint Lucia offers breathtaking views and spectacular beauty with volcanic mountains rising magically from the clear blue sea, paradise beaches, lush green forests and rich cultural heritage and is extensively blessed by nature.

Deputy Prime Minister Ernest Hilaire said he is very excited to host the prestigious World Travel Awards Caribbean and the Americas Gala Ceremony 2023 and join with the global travel and tourism industry to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the World Travel Awards.

He said that the impact of travel and tourism on the economy of our island cannot be underestimated.
