WIC News: Saint Lucia to host WTA Caribbean and The Americas Gala Ceremony 2023

The island of Saint Lucia is preparing to host the World Travel Awards – Caribbean & The Americas Gala Ceremony 2023. The leading travel industry leaders from around the region will be attending the red-carpet reception on August 26, 2023.

The prestigious evening will be held at Sandals Grande Saint Lucia and will form the climax of World Travel Week 2023. A week-long global travel and tourism sector event will feature several events to link the industry leaders and spark debate on major issues.

Furthermore, the week-long celebration will also feature a President’s Reception on the occasion of the winners of the World Travel Awards ceremony.

The Founder of the World Travel Awards, Graham Cooke, stated that he was honoured to unveil the island of Saint Lucia as the host of the Caribbean & Americas Gala Ceremony 2023 during the landmark 30th anniversary.

He added that Saint Lucia is helping to boost the recovery of the travel and tourism sector in the Caribbean, and he was honoured that this captivating island will form an essential part of the anniversary tour.

Saint Lucia is blessed by nature and is a destination of magnificent beauty, with volcanic mountains rising from the clear blue sea, lush forests, paradise beaches and rich cultural heritage.

Furthermore, the Minister for Tourism, Investment Creative Industries, Culture & Information of Saint Lucia, Dr Ernest Hilaire, said that he is elevated to host the reputable World Travel Awards Caribbean & The Americas Gala Ceremony 2023 and joined forces with the global travel and tourism sector to celebrate the 30th anniversary of WTA. He added that the impact travel and tourism have on the island’s economy cannot be overstated.

Also, the CEO of the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority (SLTA) – Lorine Charles-St Jules, also expressed her excitement regarding the Authority’s association with the WTA brand. She added that this would be an incredible boost to the tourism sector of Saint Lucia as they continue to strive for excellence in the hospitality sector. She said that she is delighted to welcome leaders from around the world and to engage them in the hospitality and culture of the stunningly beautiful nation.
