Webwire: WTA kickstarts 30th anniversary with Middle East voting
4 February 2023 - Webwire
World Travel Awards (WTA) – the global initiative to recognise and reward excellence in travel and tourism – has opened voting for the Middle East categories of its landmark 30th anniversary programme.
Travel industry professionals, the media and consumers worldwide are invited to cast their votes for travel brands that they consider to be the very best in the world. The nominee gaining the most votes in a category will be named as the winner. Voting runs until midnight 19 March.
The winners will be unveiled at WTA’s Middle East Gala Ceremony 2023, which will take place in Dubai, UAE on 30 April 2023, with the leading decision-makers, figureheads and influencers of Arabian travel in attendance.
Graham Cooke, Founder, WTA says: “I am delighted to get our 30th anniversary programme underway in earnest with the opening of voting for our Middle East categories. It is time for you to choose the organisations that are raising the bar of travel excellence.
He adds: “Middle East tourism is riding the crest of a wave following last year’s FIFA World Cup in Qatar and Expo Dubai. With international arrivals in 2023 expected to overtake pre-pandemic levels, the competition to be number one is healthier than ever. I am looking forward to finding out the winners at our Middle East Gala Ceremony 2023 in Dubai on 30 April.”
Nominees this year cover a broad spectrum of categories including Aviation, Tourist Attractions, Car Hire, Cruise, Destinations, Hotels & Resorts, Meetings & Events, Travel Agencies and Tour Operators.
Middle East organisations yet to submit an entry for inclusion in WTA’s 30th anniversary programme have until 19 February. Award winners range from small companies and boutique hotels to global brands. All categories for our Middle East region can be viewed here.
