Andina Peru: Peru.travel nominated for world's best tourism website

The State-run Peru.travel site —created to showcase the Inca country and the unique destinations it offers to tourists— has been nominated in the Best Tourism Authority Website category of the famous World Travel Tech Awards, the Peruvian Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru) announced on Friday.

In the first edition of this important annual award —which was created by the organizers of the World Travel Awards— the event will seek to recognize, reward, and celebrate excellence in travel technology.

Peru.travel stands out for being available in eight languages and providing updated information to travelers.

It is nominated along with other recognized sites around world that manage an important brand image in their respective countries such: the United States, India, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, South Africa, Great Britain, Jamaica, Thailand, Portugal, and Qatar.

The award ceremony will take place on September 10 in Ufa, capital of the Republic of Bashkortosta. Voting will take place until August 6, 2021.

Peru also has several nominations in the World Travel Awards' South America Nominees 2021.

Machu Picchu leads one of the categories (South America's Leading Tourist Attraction 2021).

The Inca country also competes to become South America's Leading Culinary Destination, Leading Whale Watching Destination, and Leading Green Destination, among others.
