The upcoming MMA event is produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

UFC 253 will take place on September 27, 2020 for viewers in the UK.

The event is confirmed to take place at the Flash Forum on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Yas Island occupies a total land area of 25 km² and is a popular leisure island and one of the top tourism projects in Abu Dhabi.

Yas Island also holds the Yas Marina Circuit, which has hosted the Formula One Abu Dhabi Grand Prix since 2009.

The island was named the World’s Leading Tourism Development Project in November 2019 by the World Travel Awards.

Other attractions to be found on Yas Island includes Ferrari World, Yas Waterworld, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi and SeaWorld Abu Dhabi.

Flash Forum is an indoor events venue at the island and seats up to 4,500, although UFC 253 will be behind closed doors.

The venue is owned by Adler Properties and operated by Spectra.

Yas island's development project was initiated in 2006 by Abu Dhabi-based Aldar Properties.

The aim was to turn the island into a multi-purpose leisure, shopping and entertainment centre.

Who is on the UFC 253 fight card?

The preliminary card will start at 1am BST with the main card beginning at approximately 3am.

UFC 253’s main event will see Israel Adesanya vs Paulo Costa at approximately 6am.

The bout was originally targeted for UFC 248, but Costa was unable to compete on that card due to injury.
