Prensa Latina: Cuba's Melia Cayo Coco hotel wins international award

The Melia Cayo Coco hotel, belonging to the Cuban tourist destination Jardines del Rey, won one of the World Travel Awards for excellence in providing services.

Located in the north of the central province of Ciego de Avila, 430 kilometers east of Havana, the five-star facility was awarded in the Cuba's Leading Hotel 2020 category.

The Melia Cayo Coco with over 20 years of exploitation maintains a good position at international level and boasts high rates of visits and repetition.

Foreign visitors prefer this hotel because of its high quality standards and the good treatment of service personnel and managers, backed by the good opinions of thousands of tourists who visit it. Although its main market is Canada, it also receives visitors from the United Kingdom, Argentina and Spain.

Located in an attractive beach area, a large part of its 250 rooms are built on stilts inside a natural saltwater lagoon, in the style of a Taino village.

It is owned by the Cuban hotel group Gran Caribe and managed by Melia Hotels International, has modern rooms and bungalows and a cozy environment with high ecological and landscape values.
