Mwakilishi: World Travel Awards: Kenya Named World’s Best Safari Destination

Kenya was named World’s Best Safari Destination in 2019 during the 26th Annual World Travel Awards in Muscat, Oman.

Chief Administrative Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism Rtd. Major General Joseph Boinnet and Kenya’s Ambassador to Oman Sheikh Mohammed Dor received the award on behalf of Kenya at the awarding ceremony. The Maasai Mara, Samburu National Reserve, Shimba Hills National Reserve, Sweet Waters Game Reserve, and Tsavo National Park are among Kenya’s top safari destinations.

Kenyan capital city, Nairobi was also named Africa’s leading business travel destination during the awards that serve to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the global travel and tourism industry.

In a statement, Kenya’s Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife announced that Kenya was picked as the venue for World Travel Awards Africa and Indian Ocean ceremonies, which will be held in October 2020.
