Prensa Latina: World Travel Awards Make Bolivia Visible, Tourism Executive Says
13 July 2019 - Prensa Latina
The importance for Latin America of the World Travel Awards (WTA)gala in La Paz is great because it makes our country visible internationally, Luis Ampuero, president of the Bolivian Chamber of Tourism, said.
'It does not matter if we get one or 15 awards, the most important thing is that the event takes place in La Paz and a group of highly qualified visitors, starting with those responsible for the WTA and another top-ranking businessmen group worldwide, can see what Bolivia and La Paz are,' the expert told Prensa Latina.
Ampuero told Prensa Latina his agreement with Bolivian Deputy Tourism Minister Marcelo Arze in attractions such as the special topography of La Paz, known as Ciudad del Cielo, through which people can take a ride thanks to the travel system through cable that unites it with the neighboring city of El Alto.
However, as well as Arze, he stressed that beyond this topographical advantage, the most important thing is that visitors can interact with the population and appreciate the warm, cordial and fraternal welcome of the Bolivian and La Paz people.
He mentioned, among other attractions, the cultural and gastronomic richness, which fosters a very intense experience from human viewpoint.
The Ministry of Culture and Tourism expects that about 300 entrepreneurs, leaders of this industry in the continent and world-renowned sector experts will arrive at the headquarters of the Government of Bolivia to attend the WTA gala.
