25 June 2019 - AOL

An unlikely spot in Eastern Europe is being tipped as the continent's top emerging tourist destination.

The coastal resort of Batumi can be found in the European country of Georgia and it's predicted to enjoy a surge in tourism over the next few years, according to Lonely Planet.

What's more, it's just been named Europe's top emerging tourist destination at the World Travel Awards.

Lonely Planet goes on to explain that Batumi's "sub-tropical climate, lush green mountains and a shimmering Black Sea coastline are some of the reasons why more international tourists are choosing it."
