The Kenyatta International Convention Center (KICC) took the accolade for Africa’s leading Meeting and conference center 2019.

KICC beat conference centers from three other African countries with South Africa having the bulk of nomination in this category with three centers getting the nod.

Cape Town International Convention Center, Durban International Convention Center and Sandton Convention Center from South Africa were all nominated in the category.

The other centers that were challenging KICC for the top Honours were Kigali Convention Centre in Rwanda and Cairo International Convention and Exhibition Centre Egypt.

KICC broke the domination of the Durban Convention Centre which had won the category 8 years in a row from 2010 to 2018.

The country as a whole also won as Kenya was voted Africa Leading Destination 2019 with Destination Kenya scooping the Africa Leading Destination Management Company.

Kenya Tourism Board also went home with the Africa leading Tourist board 2019 award.
