DFDS Seaways is celebrating awards success for the second time this year after being named as the World’s Leading Ferry Operator at the World Travel Awards.

Following on from winning the title of Europe’s Leading Ferry Operator in the European leg of the 2012 World Travel Awards in October, DFDS Seaways added the global honour at a gala ceremony held in New Delhi, India.

The World Travel Awards are based on votes are cast by industry professionals and consumers from around the world, with the World’s Leading Ferry Operator award recognising DFDS Seaways’ commitment to excellence over the last 12 months.

DFDS Seaways operates ferry routes across the North Sea, the English and Western Channel and Baltic Sea. In the UK, the company operates passenger services on routes from Harwich to Esbjerg, Dover to Dunkirk and Calais, and Newcastle to Amsterdam.

It is the second year running that DFDS Seaways has been bestowed the honour of the World’s Leading Ferry Operator at the World Travel Awards and it is the sixth time the company has been recognised for excellence by the organisation.
