Martinhal Beach Resort, which is part of The Registry Collection programme of luxury resorts, has been won the prestigious ‘Europe’s Leading Villa Resort’ award at the World Travel Awards 2012.

The European awards ceremony took place on 6 October with a gala dinner at the Conrad, Algarve, before an audience of the hotel and travel industry’s leading luminaries and the international media.

The World Travel Awards are voted for by travel and tourism professionals worldwide as well as the general public, and the accolade is recognised across the globe as a commitment to excellence.

Bairro Alto Hotel, Martinhal’s partner hotel in Lisbon, won ‘Portugal’s Leading Boutique Hotel’ at the same awards, while The Algarve earned major accolades as ‘Europe’s Leading Golf Destination’ and ‘Europe’s Leading Beach Destination’.
