Portugal rocks at the World Travel Awards 2012 mostly due to the Algarve region. Seven hotels of the region were granted with an award. Vila Joya hotel was once more considered Europe’s Leading Boutique resort. This is the 13th time Vila Joya is distinguished at the World Travel Awards.

Conrad Algarve, the stage of the event, was elected Europe’s Leading New Resort. Dunas Douradas Beach Club was awarded with the title of Europe’s Leading Villa & Apartment Residences. Martinhal Beach Resort & Hotel was recognized as Europe’s Leading Villa Resort.

Also from the Algarve were distinguished the Ria Park Hotel & Spa as Portugal’s Leading Conference Hotel. The Sheraton Algarve Hotel, Pine Cliffs Resort was elected Portugal’s Leading Family Resort. Concerning golf, Le Meridien Penina Golf & Resort won the titles of Portugal’s Leading Golf Resort and Portugal’s Leading Resort. The Algarve was also represented by the Hilton Vilamoura, considered Portugal’s Leading Hotel. The Blue & Green Vilalara Resort was acclaimed Portugal’s Leading Spa Resort.

Leaving the Algarve, Lisbon also contributed to the Portuguese success. Bairro Alto Hotel was distinguished as Portugal’s Leading Boutique Hotel. The same had happened at the last edition of the World Travel Awards.
All these Awards are the recognition of Portugal as one of the best holiday’s destination in the world. Portugal is surely a dream destination with much to offer regardless your interests.
