Abu Dhabi is the capital and second largest city of United Arab Emirates by population. Abu Dhabi has expanded its economy by investing in tourism. It is rapidly developing and urbanizing.

Abu Dhabi managed to get 36 honors at World Travel Awards Middle East Gala 2012.This is a big achievement of Abu Dhabi tourism Authority.

Three regional awards gathered by Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority are as follows:

The Middle East’s Leading Tourism Board for the third consecutive year
The Middle East’s Leading Marketing Campaign for the third consecutive year
The Middle East’s Leading Beach Destination for Saadiyat Island

Etihad Airways, the flag carrier of U.A.E, is the national airline established in July 2003. It is based in Abu Dhabi.Etihad Airways has won four awards which also includes Middle East’s Leading Airline.

Rotana hotels, which include Al Bustan Rotana, Rimal Rotana, Jumeira Rotana, Media Rotana, Al Murooj Rotana etc, achieved nine awards for many of its properties.
Jumeirah at Etihad Towers, a recently opened luxurious hotel impressively managed to get three awards most importantly including U.A.E’s leading hotel.

Omeir Travel Agency won three awards which include:

Middle East’s Leading Business Travel Agency
U.A.E’s Leading Travel Management Company
Abu Dhabi’s Leading Business Travel Agency

Aldar, Abu Dhabi’s leading integrated Property Development Investment and Management Company caught two awards including the Middle East’s Leading Tourism Property Development Company.

Abu Dhabi Travel Bureau, a leading travel company swept away three awards. GCC’s Leading Travel Management Company award is one of them.

Emirates Palace, a luxury hotel in Abu Dhabi designed by renowned architect John Elliot RIBA won six awards consisting of Middle East’s Leading Luxury Resort.
Royal Jet, an airline based in Abu Dhabi was known as Middle East’s Leading Private Jet Charter.

St.Regis Saadiya Island Resort was voted for Abu Dhabi’s Leading Beach Resort while Anantara’s Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort was voted for the Middle East’s Leading Desert Resort.Rotana Hotel was also voted for Middle East’s Leading Hotel Brand.
