World Travel Awards: Dead Sea Meridian Israel’s best resort

World Travel Awards rates the Dead Sea Meridian, managed by Fattal Hotel Management Ltd., as Israel’s best recreation site and one of the best in the world. The David Intercontinental in Tel Aviv is rated as the country’s best business hotel and suites hotel and one of the best in the world.

World Travel Awards rates Swiss International Airlines as Europe’s leading carrier. The airline’s owner, Lufthansa won the award for Europe’s leading business class airline, British Airways won the award for Europe’s first class, and Zurich Airport won the award for best airport.

Europe’s best beach is Costa Smeralda on Sardinia, Italy. The Ankara Sheraton won the award for the best European conventions hotel, and the Hotel Le Bristol Paris was ranked the leading hotel on the continent.

The World Travel 2007 Awards for the US are as follows: American Airlines - best airline; Delta Airlines - best business class; JFK - best airport; Caesar Palace in Las Vegas - best casino; Jumeirah Essex House in Manhattan - best business hotel; World Disney Swan and Dolphin Resort in Orlando, Florida - best convention hotel.

At the World Travel 2007 Awards for Africa, Sharm el Sheikh was voted leading diving site and best tourist destination.
