Hermitage Plantation, Nisbet Plantation, Four Seasons Resort Nevis and Montpelier Plantation have all been nominated for the prestigious 19th World Travel Awards 2012.

World Travel Awards was launched in 1993 to acknowledge and recognize excellence in the global travel and tourism industry and is regarded as the very highest achievement that a travel product can receive.

The four hotels in Nevis were nominated in a total six categories. The Four Seasons Resort was nominated in the following categories -Caribbean's Leading Golf Resort, St. Kitts-Nevis Leading Resort, Caribbean's Leading Honeymoon Resort, Caribbean's Leading Hotel, and Caribbean's Leading Resort.

Nisbet Plantation was nominated as Caribbean's Leading Resort, St. Kitts and Nevis' Leading Hotel and St. Kitts-Nevis Leading Resort. Montpelier Plantation and Hermitage Plantation each received a single nomination for St. Kitts and Nevis' Leading Hotel. Nevis was also nominated in the Caribbean's Leading Honeymoon Destination category.

In 2011, the Four Seasons Resort received the award in St. Kitts and Nevis' Leading Hotel and St. Kitts and Nevis' Leading Resort.

In an interview with The Observer, Chief Executive Officer in the Nevis Tourism Authority John Hanley expressed pride that hotels in Nevis were nominated and commended the hotels on their achievement.

Winners will be announced during the Caribbean & the Americas Gala Ceremony to be held at The Beaches, Turks & Caicos on September 14, 2012.
