Three years on from its debut in March 2009, the W Doha has succeeded in transforming the hospitality landscape with a dynamic approach to design, cuisine, the spa culture and its unique calendar of fashion and music happenings.

According to general manager, Safak Guvenc, the W Doha has echoed the development of Qatar, gaining a reputation as a cultural centre and ‘must-see’ destination that continually reinvents itself.

“As Doha takes centre stage to become an international venue for sports, high profile conferences and exhibitions, for academic meetings and cultural events, we are proud to fulfil a role as a trend-setter ensuring the city can offer an iconic venue that is local in design inspiration but truly cosmopolitan in spirit,” he said.

The hotel has already won a series of awards, including Qatar’s Leading Meeting and Conference Hotel and Leading Hotel and Residences in the Middle East, at the 2011 World Travel Awards, and Best Luxury Hotel Spa at the World Luxury Spa Awards.

For the future, the hotel will be expanding its role as an entertainment and event ambassador for Qatar, said Guvenc. “We aspire to serve the needs of modern travellers for comfort, technology and entertainment, while also becoming a location for both local and international visitors to discover the soul of the city, bringing its unique heritage in to the 21st century,” he said.
