Jumeirah Essex House, part of Jumeirah, has won three awards at the 2007 World Travel Americas Ceremony in New York.
It was voted North America's Leading Hotel, North America's Leading Business Hotel and New York's Leading Business Hotel at the star-studded event, fittingly held at Jumeirah Essex House.
The show was attended by more than 250 executives from the travel industry, high-profile media and Broadway and Hollywood celebrities.
Now in its fourteenth year, the World Travel Awards (WTA) are regarded as one of the very best endorsements within the travel and tourism industry. With thousands of votes cast by travel professionals from travel agencies, tour and transport companies and tourism organisations in over 160 countries across the globe, winning a World Travel Award has become one of the highest accolades a travel product or organisation can achieve, said an official spokesman.
'From the moment we assumed management of Essex House in January 2006, our aim has been to weave the magic of Jumeirah's Stay Different ethos throughout one of New York's few remaining and truly original hotel experiences,' said Jumeirah Group's senior vice-president for the Americas, Frank van der Post.
The three World Travel Awards cap off an exciting year for Jumeirah Essex House having invested $90 million over the past 10 months in a total refurbishment programme which included all of the hotel's 515 luxury bedrooms and suites, the hotel lobby, health club & spa as well as the restaurants and bars.
The multi-award winning New York City hotel, with its coveted Central Park address, is also currently celebrating its 75th anniversary.- TradeArabia News Service
