North East England has won the coveted award for the “World’s Leading Regional Marketing Campaign”, for the last two consecutive years, for ‘Passionate people. Passionate places.’ The campaign, led by regional development agency One North East, has been designed to promote North East England as a fantastic place to live, study, visit and do business. It beat off stiff competition to, win the award, from India; the Canary Islands; Queensland, Australia; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Vermont, USA; Poitou-Charentes, France; Saxony Anhalt, Germany and Greater New York.
The World Travel CEO Forum was held the day before the awards ceremony, on Monday 8 October 2007.
