Environmental Statement
As a responsible authority for the travel industry, the World Travel Awards is a strong advocate of environmental leadership within the travel and tourism industry that will lead to a sustainable future.
With the introduction of the Green Awards, we hope to encourage environmentally responsible travel companies, by offering them the opportunity to showcase their green credentials and ecologically friendly practices. As such, green awards category entrants will be waived of the standard entry fee and sponsorship of the green awards categories will be donated to a green charity.
Our Corporate Philosophy
The World Travel Awards incorporates green business practices as an intrinsic part of its operations and aims to increase environmental knowledge among staff. The individual roles we play in respecting the environment and preserving natural resources for our future are critical. It is the responsibility of each employee to incorporate the practices of informed stewardship in daily life. Waste represents environmental and economic inefficiency and irresponsibility.
Accordingly, a few things we do as a company to reduce our carbon footprint include:
- Economy air travel for all staff
- Reducing consumption of resources to levels reasonably needed
- Recycling paper and unused computer equipment
- Encouraging staff to work from home, walk or cycle to work or use public transport
