Te Manava Luxury Villas & Spa, Cook Islands has been voted “Australasia's Leading Villas” and “Cook Islands Leading Villas” at the World Travel Awards 2009 regional finals held in London on Saturday.

The award was announced on Saturday night at the 2009 World Travel Awards regional finals gala ceremony held at London’s Grosvenor House. Industry leaders from around the world were present as Lucy Joyner from Cook Islands Tourism Corporation received this prestigious award on behalf of Te Manava Luxury Villas & Spa.

Te Manava Luxury Villas & Spa is the latest creation from Eden Hall – one of the South Pacific’s leading designers and developers. This new five star luxury villa complex set on Rarotonga’s stunning Muri Beach and lagoon, offers an exciting new choice for the discerning traveler. Opened in June 2008, the complex quickly established itself in the luxury villa market, and the World Travel Award for “Australasia’s Leading Villas” now firmly places Te Manava at the top of the luxury villa market in the South Pacific.

“Te Manava Luxury Villas & Spa has succeeded in introducing a new concept in the Cook Islands, by allowing guests to design their own experience,” says Marketing General Manager – Marcus Niszow, “the concept is simple – Te Manava provides exclusive access to a fully self-contained, luxurious and elegant 5-star villa complete with private pool, well-equipped kitchen and laundry, then any additional services are selected from a comprehensive ‘a-la-carte’ Guest Services Menu – ranging from daily housekeeping services and Bulgari luxury bathroom products, through to a 5-course dinner prepared on site by a personal chef. Te Manava thus provides an award winning bespoke holiday experience.”

Independently hailed by the Wall Street Journal as the “Travel industry’s equivalent to the Oscars,” many see this as the Oscars of the world’s travel industry. President and founder of the World Travel Awards, Graham Cooke said that he felt the awards were particularly important in an unsteady and unpredictable economic climate. He went on to say that winning a World Travel Award was the highest accolade anyone in the travel industry could hope to take home. The World Travel Awards are the most comprehensive and prestigious awards program in the global travel industry today.
