World Travel Awards Reveals Grand Tour Destinations for 2009

The World Travel Awards has unveiled the 2009 destinations for its Grand Tour. Zi Lin Zhang of China, the reigning Miss World, assisted in revealing the destinations officially at the World Travel Market. The World Travel Awards is recognized as the stamp of excellence in travel and acknowledges the top travel products in the world. The regional ceremonies for the awards recognizes the winners, as well as celebrate individuals and companies that are setting new travel and tourism boundaries.

The 2009 Grand Tour of the World Travel Awards is going to kick off during May with the Africa Ceremony located in Durban, South Africa. After that, they will go to Miami in the US, Melbourne in Australia, Shanghai in China, Lisbon in Portugal, Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, and Dubai in the Middle East. The Grand Finale will then take place in London during November, along with the special dinner for the winners in Johannesburg.

Graham Cooke, the Founder and President of the World Travel Awards, said that they are proud of their impartial nature, as well as the comprehensive process of their voting program. Votes are given by a 167,000 audience of tourism professionals and travel agents from 164 countries, he continued, and this accountability level makes winning one of the awards the greatest recognition of the travel industry.

Cooke also said that with many new partnerships and a world media campaign that reaches more than 270 million, the Grand Tour for 2009 is going to be their best one. The World Travel Awards is honored to be recognized as the travel industry’s Oscars, he added.
