29 February 2012 - Journey etc

February this year has an extra day, and for a lot of cultures, the leap year means women can go on their knees and ask their beloved partner to marry them. February 29 is just a few days away and World Travel Awards recently released their list of the most romantic destinations where you can ask the most important question:

Taj Mahal in India
Lew Downs in Kenya
Rialto Bridge in Venice
Iguazu Falls in Argentina
Roseberry Topping in Yorkshire
Sahara Desert in Morocco
The Pitons in St. Lucia
Great Barrier Reef in Australia
Snowshill in Coltswolds, United Kingdom

The proposal is not an easy thing to do especially if you are the lady but adding to the equation a very good location may just ensure a favorable response.

The list by the WTA mixes choices of traditional to fun and exciting destinations. For those who are more into traditional ambiance, the Taj Mahal is there but they also injected a dose of Prince William and Princess Kate in the picture with the Lewa Downs.

If you are a couple who loves some adrenaline rush, you can do it underwater while enjoying the colors and corals of the Great Barrier Reef.

The World Travel Awards is like the Oscars of the tourism industry which recognizes the best in travel and also serves as a venue to help raise the standards of service in the industry.
