The World Travel Awards, a world-famous prize-giving ceremony, granting recognition and prestige to touristic venues in an ample range of different categories, awards tourism properties and companies for their quality, hospitality services and comfort among other attributes.

This year, Coco Reef Resort & Spa, one of the most prestigious Tobago hotels, won, for the fourth consecutive year, the World Travel Award in the category of the “Caribbean’s leading hotel”.

Tobago, one of the two islands comprising the Caribbean nation of Trinidad & Tobago, is a beautiful Caribbean isle, packed with breathtaking forests, interesting historical sites and stunning white-sand, crystal-clear water beaches.

Coco Reef Resort & Spa is Tobago’s top-notch deluxe hotel, sitting on ten acres of manicured tropical gardens. The resort provides travellers with the ultimate Caribbean holiday experience in a casual but classy ambiance.

The awards, defined by The Wall Street Journal as the global travel and tourism industry ‘Oscars’, revealed which hotels are top of the line.

The prize-giving ceremony of the World Travel Awards was recently held at the Sandals Resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica. John Jeffries, Bermuda hotelier and owner of Coco Reef Resort Ltd., proudly accepted the award at the event. Jeffries doesn’t only invest in the lucrative sector of Tobago holidays, Coco Reef Resorts also owns sister property Coco Reef in Paget, Bermuda.

The peaceful, luxurious and tropical environment and wonderful services of the Coco Reef hotel cannot be easily explained in words. Workers of the hotel have worked hard to maintain the quality of hospitality services and keep hotel occupancy to a high level; even with the major economic depression world economy suffers nowadays.

President and Founder of the World Travel Awards, Graham Cooke said: “The past year has brought significant challenges to the travel industry. Increased tax on long haul travel, a major economic turndown and a significant reduction in tourism spending have all impacted travel and tourism worldwide.”

Nevertheless, Coco Reef upholds its marvellous reputations as one of the best venues to spend luxury holidays in Tobago. If travellers wish to spend time at another spectacular resort in a different location, Coco Reef Bermuda is also a great option. The hotel opened in 2004 and consists of 70 rooms situated on a beachfront setting. It features an atrium lobby, two restaurants and exotic private dining facilities.
