Bogotá puts final touches to World Travel Awards Gala Ceremony preparations

21 September 2015 - London

With less than a month to go before Bogotá welcomes the World Travel Awards Latin America Gala Ceremony 2015, Bogotá Turismo has unveiled the latest details of the event.

The red-carpet ceremony will take place on October 10th, centred on two iconic locations in the city.

Hosting the award presentations will be the Teatro de Colón, before guests move to the Plazoleta Camilo Torres del Colegio Mayor de San Bartolomé in the historical city centre of the Colombian capital for the gala dinner.

Bogotá Turismo Director Tatiana Piñeros Laverde said: “We are going to have a night to remember.

“Winners at the World Travel Awards will be treated to a magical show, against scenery filled with fantasy and spectacle.”

Laverde continued: “The event is a chance for us to showcase our finest traditions. This includes our theatre festival, classic dancing, and artistic expressions of originality.

“This is a chance to Bogotá to exceed the expectations of the world.”

To guarantee an unforgettable event, Bogotá Turismo confirmed the host of the show would be bilingual – presenting in both Spanish and English to ensure a warm welcome for all.

A special zone will also be created in the city to allow media representatives to meet with the World Travel Awards winners.

Finally, during the journey from the Teatro de Colón to the Plazoleta Camilo Torres del Colegio Mayor de San Bartolomé, Bogotá Turismo confirmed it would project images of the difference tourism products from across the city – including the best Colombian gastronomy, architecture and culture - onto the buildings lining the route.
