This quaint village that sits on top of a hill in the Cotswolds may not be the obvious choice for the big moment, but at least no one could accuse you of being cliche! And there's no denying it's a romantic spot.

If your partner is a fan of diving, take them to what's arguably the world's most incredible coral reef.

The Pitons are two landmark volcanic peaks in the Caribbean island of St Lucia - while the view of them would be a gorgeous backdrop for any proposal, the view from them, after you've made the two-hour hike up the larger Gros Piton would be unbeatable.
